About the host
Meet Ama-Robin
Storyteller. Visionary. Keeper of the Flame.
Akwaaba! (Welcome!) I’m Ama-Robin—host of You Ain’t Imagining This!, I’m a mental projector, Black empowerment guide, and global advocate for liberation.
This space, this sanctuary, was born from my own lived experiences—of racism, of resistance, of reclaiming joy, of embracing my Blackness—and from my deep belief that our stories, our brilliance, and our imagination deserve a home and respect.
Where I’m From
Born in Oakland. Rooted in Resistance.
I was born and raised in Oakland, California—a city with inspired Black history and radical Black activism. That foundation–and my lived experiences–shaped my vision and mindset of Black liberation. It all taught me to question, to imagine, and to fight.
Later, I studied human rights law with the hope that justice could be codified and that liberation could be protected. But I quickly learned: the law wasn’t enough.
So I turned to the people. I turned to our stories. And I started speaking out.
Why I Speak
Racism Isn’t Just an American Problem. It’s a Global Crisis.
I’ve experienced racism on two continents, in multiple countries across Europe and the United States—places that proudly call themselves champions of equality and democracy.
But white supremacy? Still accepted. Still protected. Still everywhere.
That’s why I created You Ain’t Imagining This!
Because we need a space that doesn’t gaslight us.
Because we deserve a sanctuary.
Because we need a space where we are believed, accepted, and understood.
Because Black people are surviving what we were never meant to survive—and still, we rise.
But that’s not enough.
We deserve to thrive and live our best lives.
How I’m Wired
Mental Projector. ADHD Creative. Future Visionary.
As a Mental Projector in Human Design, I see systems clearly. I feel energies deeply. I know when something’s off—and I know when something’s possible. (And, to me, it’s all possible!)
My ADHD? It’s not a limitation. Now that I have learned to accept it, I consider ADHD to be my launchpad. It pushes me beyond convention. It lets me imagine new worlds. It gives me a rhythm all my own—and I honor it. And I honor all neurodivergences.
Together, these gifts help me build spaces like YAIT, where healing meets clarity, and culture meets calm.
What I Carry
The Torch of Liberation. The Wisdom of Our Ancestors.
I am a Black empowerment storyteller.
A keeper of the flame.
A voice in the ancestral chorus that sings of freedom, dignity, and joy.
I carry the stories that others tried to erase. I honor the brilliance of our elders, the resilience of our people, and the dreams of those not yet born.
What This Is
YAIT Is Not Just a Podcast. It’s a Sanctuary.
You Ain’t Imagining This! is where we come to tell the truth—without apology. It’s where we reclaim our voices, resist gaslighting, and rest without guilt.
This is the place where we:
Name the harm
Celebrate the joy
Embrace ancestral rituals
Speak our stories in our voices
Build the world we want to live in
This is a podcast. A practice. A sanctuary.
And I’m honored you’re here.
