The IDEA THAT BUILT YAIT TOWN

The “Why” behind YAIT TOWN

“The place in which I’ll fit will not exist until I make it.” — James Baldwin

Welcome to YAIT TOWN

A sanctuary rooted in Black truth, courage, and power.

YAIT confronts the chaos of living Black in predominantly white spaces.

Through storytelling, conversation, and cultural truth-telling, we reclaim what’s ours - our voices, our sanity, and our power.

YAIT Town is the living world that grew from our mission; to create a digital Black sanctuary where we learn, create, and take action towards collective peace, love, and joy.

It’s a place of exploration and connection, with spaces like the Front Porch, the Bookstore, the Café,the Community Garden, and more.

Here we gather for real stories, hard talks, rituals, and comforting moments that help us see clearly, speak boldly, and live freely.

Together, we reflect, connect, and rise.

We have just broken ground!

Early neighbors will help shape the street, the conversations, and the rituals that bring this place alive.

Come as you are. Take what you need. Bring your voice, your questions, your joy, and your weariness.

You belong here.

  • You will GET Weekly posts and reflections that affirm your truth.

  • Safe spaces for conversation, joy, and rest.

  • Community rituals like joy check-ins, healing practices, and cultural discussions.

  • A Black-centered sanctuary — no minimizing, no explaining, just being.
