Belonging Here: A Juneteenth Walk in YAIT Town

listen now!

If you've ever felt exhausted from navigating predominantly white spaces, this episode is for you,

Today, we`re taking a slow walk in YAIT Town.

We'll spend time on the Front Porch with Auntie Octavia and Mrs. Jenkins, stroll through town with Mr. Kojo, stop by Crown & Glory Barber and Beauty Shop,

and end our journey at Umoja Café, where Miss Ayeisha is serving free Friday grits, warm cornbread, hibiscus tea, and plenty of community.

Along the way, we'll reflect on Juneteenth, belonging, freedom, memory, and what it feels like to be welcomed without having to earn it.

This isn't a history lesson.

It's an invitation.

An invitation to imagine--and practice-a world where you are seen, valued, safe, and

connected.

A world where you belong

So come walk with me.

You ain't imagining it.

And you ain't alone.
